WHITEOUTMichael Goldgruber
Ausstellungseröffnung/Opening: 21.03.2019, 19:00 – 22:00 Uhr
Ausstellungsdauer/Duration:
22.03.-20.04.2019
Montageverfahren mit all
ihren geometrischen Verzerrungen anspielen.
For
the long-term project WHITEOUT, Michael Goldgruber sets off on the trail of
the appropriation of nature and the mediatization of landscape perception in
alpine space.
Fields
of action for his photographic and cinematographic work have been the regions of glaciers
and high alpine topographies that are visually and factually affected by climate change and other ecological
processes for more than ten years.
Goldgruber's
view is guided by a fundamental skepticism about clichés and romantic ideals.
His work focuses on fragmentary moments a landscape that is in a hybrid state
between
cultural
and natural space as well as in a transformation process caused by global
warming.
In
the exhibition WHITEOUT he activates the motif fundus with variations
of the landscape tableau as well as with installation works, which are based on
amateurish panorama - alluding to the assembly process with all its geometric
distortions.
In his photographic and video works, he also lets
architecture speak for himself, which serves to consume, monitor, occupy and
control wilderness spaces.
