Bild – Abbild – Wahrheit – Wirklichkeit – Spiegelbild - Trugbild

Das sind kurzgefasst viell. einige Aspekte, um die es in Daniel Leidenfrost´s Arbeiten geht. Ausgangspunkt für seine prototypischen-, eine real existierende Welt abzubilden scheinenden, inszenierten Foto-Arbeiten sind nach wie vor Zeichnungen und selbstgebaute Modelle. Waren früher etwa standardisierte Wohnsiedlungen, ein Hotel oder ein Galerie-/Ausstellungsraum Ausgangspunkte für Leidenfrosts Feldstudien, so kann man die aktuelle Ausstellung SPACE fast als Retrospektive bezeichnen- denn thematisch sind die Objekte etwas weiter gefasst und tragen Titel wie „Stadt“, „Garten“, „Raum“ oder „Archiv“. Auch der Charakter der Modelle hat sich weiterentwickelt - von ehedem eher „Architekturmodellen“ ähnelnden Motiven geht die Ausführung aktuell in Richtung „raffiniert-verspiegelter Miniwelten“, die trotz ihrer Grösse eine kleine Unendlichkeit vorgaukeln.

In a nutshell, that's a lot of it, some of the aspects that Daniel Leidenfrost's work is all about. The starting point for his prototypical (photo)-work which seems to depict a real existing world, are still drawings and self-made models. In the past, standardized housing estates, a hotel or a gallery space or simply a functional room were the starting points for Leidenfrost's field studies, so the current exhibition SPACE can almost be described as a retrospective - for thematically, the objects are a little wider and have titles like "City "," Garden "," Room " or " Archive ". The character of the models has also evolved, going from motifs that are more akin to "architectural models" to "refined-mirrored mini-worlds" that, despite their size, fool a little infinity…
